Reason to support the Clubs Race Team?
“CLUB FJ RACER” acquits itself in the “Forgotten Era” race series with a creditable Third. With your support we would like to make a Two man Club Race Team in 2007. Myself, Phil (Doc) Hacker and Liam (Corky) Horgan.
WHY RACE A FJ:
Anyone who wanted to go motorcycle racing would not (in their right mind) choose the Yamaha FJ1100 or FJ1200, as its 20 years old, heavy, lacks power, and at very high speed the handling is not the best.
I am, considered to be an expert (some say anorak) on the FJ series, so making and racing a converted old Tourer into a full blooded racer is a challenge to say the least.
It just so happens that I love the Yamaha FJ series of bikes and have been running the FJ Owners Club for over 14 years. So to me, why would I choose any other make of bike to go racing.
The FJ is competing against better machinery like the Yamaha Exup (even one 0W01) and GSXR's but I'm trying to prove a point; This being, the FJ was and still is a amazing motorcycle and even though it has ways had a impressive name as a bullet proof, Sports Tourer, the sporty nature has not been praised as much as I feel it deserves. So I'm out there flying the flag for us FJ owners.
WHY THE NEED TO SPONCOR;
As you may know motorcycle racing is very expensive. The fuel, maintenance, and entry fees, plus incidentals, travel etc, do add up to a considerable amount. At the end of my first season of racing I was amazed at just how expensive racing a motorcycle is.
Liam and I have made a commitment to pay and build the FJ Racers. The basic race package has costs in the region of £3000. This included the purchase of the bike and replacing all bearing, fit new suspension units, fitted high performance brakes etc... Then we at to upgrading the FJ motor to make it competitive, which incurred more cost.
Any financial support you can give, would be very grateful received and this will be mainly used in the running cost of racing the FJ in the Forgotten Era with Wirral 100 Club.
If you wish to contribute with any amount (no amount to small), you can do this via the sponsorship link on the home page, then using paypal as the method of payment.
If you do not have a Paypal account, you can forward a cheque payable to the ‘FJ Owners Club’ to Clubs address
Ivy Cottage, Cromhall. Wotton-U-Edge, Glos, GL12 8AR

(If you run a business? Remember, Sponsorship is tax deductible (better than letting the tax man have it all)
Please come along to any on the race meets in 2007, because support in not necessarily in money alone. A good turn out will alway boost morale, and watching 'Win it or Bin it' Liam has got to be entertaining.

Thanks for your support.
